SaaS Fair Use Policy

Last Updated on: 22-May-2026

Zap Data Hub SaaS runs on shared cloud infrastructure. Fair use of that infrastructure means consistent performance for all subscribers, with no single subscriber's usage degrading the service for others. This policy is the framework under which Zap publishes and applies the limits that deliver fairness across the subscriber base. Zap Data Hub SaaS includes Artificial Intelligence features that rely on third party service providers. These features are subject to this Fair Use Policy. Fair use of those features means sustainable usage that does not impose disproportionate cost or degrade the service for other subscribers.

Current Limits

Zap publishes the specific usage limits and measurement methods that give effect to this policy as Notices. The current Notice is available here. Subscribers are responsible for reviewing the current Notice and any subsequent Notices that supersede it. Zap may set, vary, and replace the limits published in Notices at any time. Usage limits may include limits specific to Artificial Intelligence features, including limits on prompts, tokens, or requests, measured per user or per subscriber.

Enforcement

Where a subscriber's usage exceeds the limits published in the current Notice, Zap may pause scheduled processing on the subscriber's account until usage returns within the limits. The measurement windows, pause behaviour, and resume conditions are set out in the current Notice.

Operational Management

In addition to the limits published in Notices, Zap manages load across the shared infrastructure through the following ongoing mechanisms:

  • Zap may queue both manual and scheduled processes to spread out load, unless the subscriber has paid for a dedicated host.

  • Zap may enforce query timeouts and vary these timeouts without notification.

  • Zap may throttle the total number of queries that subscribers can run in parallel across all users.

  • Zap may apply other resource constraints without notification, where necessary to maintain consistent performance for all subscribers.

  • Zap may throttle, queue, or limit Artificial Intelligence requests, including by user or by subscriber, to manage cost and capacity across third party Artificial Intelligence service providers.

Other Usage Subject to Fair Use

Some features that are not license-restricted, such as OData API or External Links, are subject to this Fair Use Policy and the subscriber's reasonable usage of the platform. Where usage of those features far exceeds the limits of the standard Zap-provisioned infrastructure, Zap reserves the right to charge for any excess usage. Artificial Intelligence features are subject to this Fair Use Policy. Where a subscriber's Artificial Intelligence usage exceeds the limits published in the current Notice, Zap may pause Artificial Intelligence processing or charge for excess usage, including the pass-through costs of third party Artificial Intelligence service providers.

Predecessor

This policy supersedes the SaaS Fair Use Policy dated 26-Apr-2022. The 26-Apr-2022 policy remains available for reference here.

Right to Modify

Zap reserves the right to modify this policy from time to time. Changes that affect the limits, measurement methods, or enforcement mechanics are issued through Notices, with effective dates stated in the Notice. Other changes may be made by republishing this policy with an updated Last Updated date.
