Connecting
is easy
Connecting
is easy
If you're here looking for a simple way to connect SAP B1 to Power BI, we've got you covered. But trust us, connecting is the easy part.
Zap automates the hard bits:
Navigating the acronym soup of tables from OINV to OITM
Avoiding duplicate financial records as you model
Combining multiple company databases without hundreds of union steps
Managing a mess of UDF denormalization...
and a whole lot more. Typical Zap customers save months in modeling, and see their first dashboards day 1.

Power BI foundations
done right

Trust deeper
Prevent duplicates — Power BI and OneLake don’t enforce primary keys. A Zap data warehouse protects your financial reports from silent errors.
Single source of truth — Power BI and Zap's Excel add-in share the same validated data model.
Historical integrity — Built in data retention enables point-in-time analysis and audit trails.

Go faster
Process faster — Zap's Delta processing updates more than 5x faster than full partition reloads.
Query faster — Star schema optimization delivers blistering query performance.
Refresh more often — Warehouse buffering protects SAP B1 from performance strain, enabling near real-time data updates.

Build smarter
Build safer — Pre-built models cut implementation time by over 80% and reduce project risk.
Model smarter — SAP B1-aware optimizations reduce customization and maintenance effort.
Fabric ready — Switch on Microsoft Fabric sync for notebooks and lake-scale data when you're ready, not before.

FAQs
How does Zap prevent duplicate records and ensure data integrity?
Power BI and OneLake cannot enforce primary keys, allowing duplicate records to silently corrupt financial reports. Even Fabric SQL Warehouse requires 'NOT ENFORCED' in all constraints. Zap uses Azure SQL Database or Fabric SQL Database with enforced primary keys, catching duplicates before they reach your reports. ERP financial data integrity is our specialty, not just another data source we connect to.
How exactly does Zap make Power BI refreshes faster?
Zap transforms each incoming source change as two transactions in the data warehouse: one to reverse the original value and another to add the new value, similar to ledger adjustments. When synchronized to Power BI via XMLA, this enables add-only processing rather than full partition reloads. Since Power BI processes additions much faster than updates, the result is refreshes >5x faster even for complex ERP data.
Why not query SAP B1 tables directly in Power BI?
SAP B1 uses cryptic table names like OINV, OITM, OCRD - you'd spend weeks researching these relationships just to build a coherent schema, and the result would be a model lost in SAP’s technical language. Zap transforms SAP B1 data into business-friendly tables and handles heavy row-level processing in the data warehouse, so Power BI stays focused purely on analytic transforms and visualization.
How does Zap handle multiple company databases?
In Power BI you’d need to manually union each data pipeline across your company databases - tedious work that multiplies with every additional entity. With Zap you simply select companies via checkboxes and we automatically consolidate them upstream, delivering unified data ready for your Power BI transforms.
Will our UDFs flow through automatically?
In Power BI you’d need to include bespoke lookups for each user defined field (UDF), but with Zap you simply check the source columns to bring in. It doesn’t matter if it’s native or UDF - Zap performs the source modeling for you behind the scenes.
