|Toni recently joined ZAP as APAC General Manager. As a welcome addition to the ZAP team, we decided to introduce her to you all by featuring her for September’s staff spotlight…
Hi Toni, thanks so much for joining us today and we hope you’re settling in well at ZAP! We’ll kick things off with: Where do you come from and where do you live?
I was born in South Africa and immigrated to Sydney, Australia in 2001 with my fiancé. We returned to SA for our wedding, then lived in Sydney for nearly 20 years up until October 2019 when we moved to Queensland.
What does your job entail?
I am absolutely loving my new role. I talk with our partners, I coordinate prospect demo’s, plan the strategy for the APAC region and work closely with our local and global teams to ensure our go to market plans, pricing structure and project methodology aligns to set us up for long term success.
What is a typical day like?
While still new-ish at ZAP, my days are not following any typical structure yet. I am investing time in learning the product, meeting with our existing customers and partners and understanding how ZAP can be part of their future. I am currently consuming lots of our senior executive’s time as I build out the APAC goals for the next 12-24 months.
What’s a common question you get from customers?
“How quickly can ZAP Data Hub be implemented and how often is the data refreshed?” (They’re always very impressed with the answers!)
What do you like most about your job?
I already love working with our product as it’s feature rich and contains many capabilities, but I also like meeting and working with the team members who contribute to the wonderful culture at ZAP.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
I love mountain biking, swimming in the ocean and being outdoors.
What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?
I did ballet for 12 years and relish the opportunity to enjoy a night at the ballet at least once a year these days.
Who are your favorite sports teams?
Springboks (rugby union) – current World Champs mind you.
And any favorite bands/artists?
Imagine Dragons, Xavier Rudd, Pete Murray, One Republic
How about favorite films?
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (Kevin Costner). I love all the Marvel movies, and most romantic love stories.
What’s your signature dish?
A humble Chicken pie, but very delicious.
How would you describe the difference ZAP Data Hub makes to a business… And in just one sentence!
It provides customers with a platform for all the future data management requirements, and comes with pre-packaged formula’s, metrics and elements, that enable immediate adoption.
What are some of the differences between working for ZAP versus other companies you’ve been with?
Team members have been very eager to share their knowledge and are transparent with the wonderful product roadmap and future strategies being worked on. Company has been open to change and continual change to ensure they remain current to the market and customer requirements.
And finally, who would play you in the movie of your life?
The brave damsel, who silently saves the day!
