Enterprise Management Data & Analytics (EMDA)

ZAP has worked with Sage to add extra functionality to ZAP Data Hub — including pre-packaged data management, BI and analytics — to build a solution specifically for Sage Enterprise Management users: Enterprise Data Management & Analytics (EMDA).

EMDA improves the financial and operational performance of businesses using Enterprise Management by speeding up and simplifying the analysis and organization — as well as the collection and integration — of ERP and related data.

ZAP’s data management, analytics and BI for Enterprise Management collects ERP data using a pre-packaged data connector. Data instantly becomes available for reporting, thanks to a pre-packaged Enterprise Management-specific data model. It becomes integrated with your other business data in an automated data warehouse, while ZAP’s intuitive data modeling, UI and semantic layer automation make it simple to prepare for analysis. And a central library of over 500 pre-set analytics, KPIs, and calculations — accessible via dashboards aligned to specific roles and functions — enable governed, self-service BI for users across your organization.

Out-of-the-box data visualization and more

Track performance using pre-built analytics, KPIs and calculations, all accessed via role-based dashboards that deliver immediate insight into Enterprise Management data no matter what industry you are in, be it wholesale and distribution, discrete or process manufacturing or services. Going one stage further, a 360-degree view of the business can be built thanks to the automated integration of data from Enterprise Management with other business applications such as HR (including Sage X3 People) and CRM (including SalesForce and Microsoft Dynamics CRM).

The net result? Confident decision-making based on accurate information, delivered by a solution that removes inefficient or inaccurate manual data processes. And data compliance, achieved while keeping IT effort and costs down thanks to user-friendly data governance and built-in security and system administration tools.

IDC reports on ZAP

“ZAP’s solution aims to automate elements of the time-consuming and more
complex aspects of manually building a data warehousing and BI platform.
A good example of this is the support and pre-packaged content ZAP provides
for specific development tasks, including data connectivity.
Data connectors for files, cloud applications or services, and on-premises
relational databases are supported.”

Key features of Enterprise Management Data & Analytics (EMDA)

Information empowerment comes from the five key facets of EMDA for Enterprise Management: hybrid data collection, intuitive data modeling, automated data integration, data warehouse and semantic layer, BI and analytics, and built-in governance.

Hybrid data collection

Connection to — and collection of — Enterprise Management and other business data is automated by ZAP, with rich data connectivity to source metadata, multi-lingual caption extraction and customization detection. Out-of-the-box connection to other cloud and on-premise data sources is also provided via ZAP Data Gateway, a straightforward, secure and optimized way of accessing cloud or on-premise data sources across existing networks and firewalls.

Intuitive data modeling

ZAP has a pre-packaged Enterprise Management data model that delivers immediate insight. A user-friendly data modeling interface with drag-and-drop UX means data models can be customized to meet even the most demanding reporting requirements. IT overheads are reduced as ZAP’s intuitive data modeling UI enables users of all levels of expertise to prepare data for reporting.

Automated data integration, data warehouse, semantic layer

ZAP integrates Enterprise Management with other data sources into a secure, central hub of business-wide insight. Further sources can be added at any time in the future. Technical effort is further reduced by ZAP’s data warehouse and semantic layer automation, which removes the need for a manual data warehouse project.

BI and analytics for Enterprise Management

ZAP’s pre-set Enterprise Management dashboards, reports, and calculations span all business
functions, from finance to sales, procurement to inventory, with over 500 analytics
ready-to-go, out-of-the-box.

Self-service reporting is delivered via both enterprise-class analytics and data
visualization tools. Our responsive, touch-friendly user interface — with ready-to-use,
role-based dashboards — adapts to any device, driving user adoption across
the business. ZAP for Enterprise Management’s dynamic visualizations enables data discovery
and information sharing.

If you are already using a BI tool, you can use it to analyze EMDA data. Built on ZAP Data Hub technology, EMDA makes it quicker and easier to analyze data with your chosen BI tool. See how ZAP Data Hub provides secure, efficient and accurate access to data for users of all leading BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik and other self-service BI tools.

Built-in data governance

Data governance is at the heart of EMDA. Our systems have strong, comprehensive system administration and data governance tools built-in. Enterprise-class security controls set permissions, regulate access and protect data at any level of granularity.

ROI is maximized as usage can be both monitored and audited via specific dashboards, which keeps performance optimized and costs minimized. TCO is controlled as upgrade life-cycles can be actively managed to ensure consistency of data and business continuity at every turn.

Software as a Service, Private Cloud, On-premise or Hybrid

As EMDA is built on ZAP Data Hub technology, it is available as a fully-featured, on-demand Software as a Service product which removes the technical, resource and time costs associated with connecting, collecting, securing and analyzing your Enterprise Management data. In short, it helps you become a data-driven business faster.

In terms of other deployment options, EMDA can be deployed on a private cloud, on-premise or as a hybrid combination of the two. ZAP Data Hub’s flexible architecture, on which EMDA is built, is specifically designed to enable multiple deployment scenarios and scale as both the volume of users and the volume of data in an organization increases over time.
