Hey Sara, thanks for making the time to take part in this month’s staff spotlight. Let’s kick things off with… where do you come from and where do you live? Jacksonville, Florida & Jacksonville, Florida… how exciting! At least I used to be able to travel frequently.
What does your job entail? In a nutshell: Managing the education delivery, content and education sites.
What is a typical day like? COFFEE! Plus emails, strategic planning meetings and education delivery. In between bouncing around priority tasks, I also take a few minutes to show my Bullnese doggie some attention.
What’s a common question you get from customers? Hmm, I get a lot of help and how-to questions. I can’t say anything specific sticks out, but when you’ve been around as long as I have there isn’t much I can’t answer! It’s normally customers and partners asking me to slow down. Haha whoops!
What do you like most about your job? I love the flexibility, the diverse people and accents we get to work with, as well as working with the absolutely brilliant minds and cutting-edge technology which ZAP Data Hub offers.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working? Spend quality time with my 2 year old daughter Magnolia, pup Bosco, friends and family.
What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know? Few things…I’m a lefty, I went to school initially for music production and education, I’m an ex-Jazzercise instructor, and I sing tenor in a barbershop chorus (pre-COVID anyway!)
Who are your favorite sports teams? Anyone Florida-based really. Jaguars continue to break my heart. Come on Urban and Trevor!
And any favorite bands/artists? So many to list… I mean I love music and just about all genres but here are a few: Chicago, Michele McLaughlin and Who Rescued Who
How about favorite films? OK, you got me…I love chick flicks and musicals… Don’t judge haha! Some of my favourites are Pretty Woman, Sweet Home Alabama, Rent, The Greatest Show, LA LA Land etc.
What’s your signature dish? Way too many to narrow it down to 1. I love to cook. I get requests from family frequently for my Mac n Cheese, and various pasta salads and also lately my salsa and carnitas!
How would you describe the difference ZAP Data Hub makes to a business… And in just one sentence! AUTOMATION. We help automate their data needs so that they can spend more time focusing on more important business goals.
What are some of the differences between working for ZAP versus other companies you’ve been with? The team at ZAP is quick on their feet and minds. Like I mentioned earlier, we’re flexible. Being flexible removes the traditional red-tape and politics I see at other companies and allows us to make quick business decisions and process changes timely and efficiently when needed. And, I do love working from home!
And finally, who would play you in the movie of your life? This is a hard question…musical person, or badass. I always thought Michelle Rodriguez would be cool and she is a total badass 😊
