|After joining ZAP back in October, Rushab hit the ground running in his role as an SDR. Based in London, UK, he’s responsible for developing and nurturing business in the EMEA region, acting as a pivotal bridge between our marketing and sales teams. With his ZAP-iversary not too far away, we featured him as July’s staff spotlight…
Hi Rushab, thanks for being a part of July’s staff spotlight! As always our first question is… where do you come from and where do you live?
Born in Kenya (oh I do miss weekends there, going out in the wild for a safari trip). Fast forward and now I’ve been based in North London for the past 20 years.
What does your job entail?
Calling, emailing, and researching… Building relationships, understanding our customers’ challenges and booking discovery calls to understand more. Following this, I carry out a structured process for demos and proposals.
What is a typical day like?
I spend a huge amount of time on the phone, as well as email and LinkedIn. Then it’s on to meetings (discovery calls, demos, and follow-up calls). And, at some point, making a hot cuppa and telling people they are on mute on Teams!
What’s a common question you get from customers?
It’s generally always around “Can ZAP Data Hub connect our particular ERP and/or data source?”
What do you like most about your job?
Building a relationship with new and potential customers, and showing them how our software can solve their challenges.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
Travelling. I went to Vietnam in February of 2020. Literally an amazing trip and experience. Watching TV shows (Netflix and Amazon Prime, spoilt for choice). Keeping fit and socialising with friends and always trying new places to eat.
What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?
I auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent when I was 18 and I have performed at the London Palladium. OK, I will add one more. I once I fell asleep on the London Underground (the Northern Line to be precise), and went back and forth, South- to North-bound, and back out to South-bound…
Who are your favorite sports teams?
Manchester Utd – when I was very young, all I knew about football was David Beckham and Manchester United. That is how I started to support them.
And any favorite bands/artists?
There is an endless list. I am a huge fan of all types of music but one artist I will mention is Ed Sheeran. What a talent… I met have him and seen him perform live twice.
How about favorite films?
Brilliant question! Blood Diamond, The Founder, The Dark Knight. I could carry on with this list… Also shout out to IMDB.
What’s your signature dish?
This may be simple, but you got to get it right. Drum roll please… Fried egg with a runny yolk. Please do follow my Instagram food page @rusheatsveg!
How would you describe the difference ZAP Data Hub makes to a business… And in just one sentence!
Faster reporting from one platform, with interactive dashboards that show data from multiple data sources. That’s it, ZAP Data Hub.
What are some of the differences between working for ZAP versus other companies you’ve been with?
Firstly, I don’t have to wear suits. ZAP is the first business I have joined that offers a product globally. I do enjoy speaking with different businesses from across the EMEA region… Being able to have the option to work remotely and being able to be involved in marketing campaigns. Can’t wait to start travelling within the EMEA for events, too.
And finally, who would play you in the movie of your life?
Well in my early 20s I was told I look like Zayn Malik, late 20s like Colin Farrell. But come on it has to be hands down Dwyane Johnson aka The Rock, what a cool guy.
